map of entities vandalism
Keep your eyes peeled for people who try to change the maps of the entities. Wikipedian User:PRODUCER has been changing these maps recently. We must not allow his primitive maps to replace our better maps which have more detail and precision. His look like armature creations in paint, and it's clear that they are nowhere near as accurate as our current ones. (LAz17 (talk) 03:40, 8 January 2009 (UTC)).

Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Hi!
Over at Eurovision Song Contest 2009 there's a dispute over the language that the Bosnia and Herzegovina entry is sung in. Various editors have found references to support either Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian. None of these sources seem ideal, and "official" sources appear to steer well clear of stating which language the entry is sung in. My personal preference right now is moving towards listing the language as "disputed", however I'd really prefer a good reference that everyone can live with. Is this possible? To be honest, this is well outside my area of expertise (and my comfort zone!) so I'd welcome some input from more experienced editors in this field. If you could, could you maybe comment at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2009#Language issues - or here, and I'll relay messages to the relevant talk page?

Help requested
Hi everyone. I've been working for some time on the article Operation Deny Flight, and it is currently at FAC (there is a thread about this above). If it passes, it would become the only Bosnia related Featured Article, so I'd like to ask for your help. Other editors have suggested that I find a volunteer to copyedit the article, to eliminate some of the little inconsistencies in my own writing. Mehmed-pasa Sokolovic was NOT Serb
Two ethnic groups, Bosniaks and Serbs, celebrate Sokollu Mehmet Paşa as their own. It is utterly unfair to refer to him as being of Bosnian Serb descent when this is clearly disputed. He is one of the most celebrated characters in the Bosniak history. Nobody can assign him to Serbs when other nation celebrates him as their own. According to Prof. Mustafa Imamovic (History of Bosniaks, page 158-163 [18], Sokollu Mehmet Pasa was Bosniak. Serb sources listing Sokolovic as Serb are weak and self-serving. I suggest we modify the article by mentioning that two ethnic groups celebrate him as their own, and also list credible arguments in support of Mehmed Pasa's Bosniakhood. There is no strong indication that he was Serb apart from Serb sources using weak and clearly not academic estimates.Bosniak (talk) 23:10, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation
This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.
We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.
If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. END OF THE MAP PROBLEM
As some of you may know, we had a serious map problem on here lately. Well, that problem has been slammed by me just now, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rjecina/Bosnian_census#in_case_we_forgot , as that frauder ceha has been hit by damning evidence and real maps. I've spent a substantial time improving the article for this club today. I believe that the quality of the article at this point surrmounts to a higher level of importance, so I respectfully request for this article to be moved to a higher importance level from it's current Stub level.
