Talkback[edit]

Hello, Ratheef Ahammed Refuon. You have new messages at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force#Satellite rights?.
Message added 04:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Re: this, there is nothing at MOS:FILM (our Manual of Style for Film) that encourages the inclusion of satellite rights information. There is a discussion at WT:ICTF that you are invited (and encouraged to) participate in. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to add content about satellite rights without achieving consensus as you've done here, it will be considered disruptive. Wikipedia is not an advertising site, and your repeated submission of trivial financial details are indistinguishable from promotion. If you choose not to participate in the discussion, that's your prerogative, but without consensus, you have no justification to add the content. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:30, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit summary[edit]

Re: your edit summary here, if you have something to talk to me about, you're welcome to open a discussion on my talk page. Addressing someone in an edit summary isn't likely to get any attention unless someone happens upon it by chance, like I did. If you look at the article's edit history, you'll notice that I only edit every few days, typically when I see something in need of fixing. If I didn't remove the spam, the smart conclusion to draw is that I didn't see it. Your statement "But, you didn't even question the person has added these unwanted links which are totally irrelevant to the article" makes the unfounded assumption that I saw it, which I hadn't yet. Surely you're not suggesting that I am actively promoting piracy, are you? I've removed far more spam at Wikipedia than you ever will. As to your taunting comment, "If you have guts 1st undo the erroneous edits in wiki." your complaint, if I'm interpreting it correctly, comes from the erroneous position that we handle problems in order of priority. Not necessarily. If you are editing against community consensus and I happen to see it, I have to fix it. If someone adds spam links or vandalizes articles, I have to fix that too. But I don't have to only fix all the spam and vandalism at Wikipedia before fixing your edits. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:11, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ratheef, I didn't understand this edit. You changed the subject's degree, but there was no reference before the change or after the change. Where is this information coming from? Also, you changed his active year to 2007, but the first date that appears in his filmography is 2012--although I do see an award from 2011. So that's confusing as well. I've reverted it. Typically the years active would roughly coincide with the years that they've been working in film/tv. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:59, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hello, Ratheef ahammed refuon. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Arnav (TV actor), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arnav (TV actor), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additional cinematography[edit]

Re: this, which is a resubmission of this, the |cinematographer= parameter of the film infobox is for the primary cinematographer, not for second unit or other cameramen. Please familiarise yourself with our Template:Infobox film instructions. And if content you submit gets reverted, your recourse is to open a discussion to seek consensus for the changes you want, not to resubmit the content. If you resubmit the content, it's perceived as disruptive, particularly when they are not in alignment with community preferences. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:00, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mersal cast, characters and, I don't know... nicknames?[edit]

Re: this and this and this, you've submitted this content multiple times and have been reverted each time. Stop resubmitting it, please, as this is disruptive. Your recourse is to open a discussion on the article's talk page and seek consensus for the inclusion of this content. You should be aware that per WP:FILMCAST, Wikipedia does not endeavor to replace IMDb, so we don't need to list everybody whose face graced the screen. We only care about significant roles. Please don't submit this content again unless you have consensus to do so. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:11, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't just make stuff up[edit]

Re: these changes, please don't just make up new ways to use established parameters. If you don't know what you're doing, READ THE DOCUMENTATION, in this case, Template:Infobox television. |opentheme= is for the name of the theme song not for the credits of every person who worked on it. We care about the theme composer, which is why we have |theme_music_composer=, but we don't care (in the infobox) who wrote the lyrics or who sang it, or who played the guitar or the dhol or whatever. Any information like that is suited for the article body in a section on music, and should be amply sourced.

Tamil television articles are, for whatever reason, always problematic. If you're going to copy from another article you read, pick a television article from the WP:GA or WP:FA categories, few of which will allow such mistakes to live for long. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:33, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of parameters[edit]

Hi there, re: this, please don't misuse parameters as you did. The |theme_music_composer= parameter is for the name of the person who wrote the theme song. Period. If you want to indicate the person who wrote the show's incidental background music, that would be |composer=. There is a whole information page that will teach you how to properly use these parameters at Template:Infobox person. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:30, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever document you're looking at needs to be sourced. That is, assuming it's reliable. See WP:RS. Changes like these are just irritating, because instead of actually looking into the proper methodology for presenting nicknames in professional English prose, you are regurgitating improper formatting, and thus, spreading ignorance to other readers and editors. Per MOS:NICKNAME:

If a person is known by a nickname used in lieu of or in addition to a given name, and it is not a common hypocorism of one of their names, or a professional alias, it is usually presented between double quotation marks following the last given name or initial. The quotation marks are not put in lead-section boldface. Example:
  • Roland Bernard "Bunny" Berigan.
  • Elizabeth Stamatina "Tina" Fey.

Please adhere accordingly and please stop making up your own formatting. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:02, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Where did @UtherSRG withdraw the AfD nomination? Don’t you know you can be blocked for this type of editing? GrabUp - Talk 09:55, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! I see. Sorry I didn't know about it. By the way how to close the deletion discussion & remove the AfD? Ratheef Ahammed Refuon (talk) 10:01, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Revert your bad faith edit. Why you closed that discussion? GrabUp - Talk 10:02, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please kindly guide me on how to do it? Ratheef Ahammed Refuon (talk) 10:06, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Ratheef Ahammed Refuon, Do not close the AfD or remove the AfD notice from the article next time, or you will be blocked. Post your arguments in the discussion page and explain why the article should be kept according to the notability guidelines. If your arguments are found to be correct, then the article will be kept. If not, it will be deleted, and I think it will be deleted as I also voted for deletion. GrabUp - Talk 10:14, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I didn't mean to violate any procedures, I had unintentionally removed the AfD without completely knowing how to properly close the deletion discussion, so please kindly unblock meRatheef Ahammed Refuon (talk) 11:25, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Ratheef Ahammed Refuon[reply]

Decline reason:

You should definitely not be closing the deletion discussions. Yamla (talk) 12:17, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
