Using video thumbnails as cover artworks[edit]

Hey Lil-unique1, I just want your opinion as a music editor who also occasionally nominates images for deletion. I'm not sure if you're aware of the musical animated series Hazbin Hotel—but anyway, a few songs from the series have articles here now, and the user who created them has uploaded the thumbnails for the songs' music videos as replacement artworks in the cover= parameter of the infoboxes. I could have sworn (and you might be aware) that there is precedent, an "unspoken rule" if you will, to not use video thumbnails as covers, but as I really don't mark down dates, times and links of previous FFDs where thumbnails that have been used as covers have been deleted it's basically just my word that there is precedent rather than policy or a guideline not to do so. If you feel like offering your opinion, the discussion is at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2024 February 27#File:Poison Song Cover Image.jpeg. Thanks! Ss112 14:03, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple durations[edit]

Hello. I happened to notice this edit of yours on My House (Beyoncé song). Template:Infobox song doesn't say we can't include multiple versions' lengths like it does for one release date etc; it actually says "If additional lengths are entered, use {{Duration}} for the second and subsequent lengths: {{Duration|3:09}} will produce "3:09"." Ss112 00:03, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ss112, there's a long standing tradition of not including multiple durations unless its consequential e.g. the single version doesn't have a feature and is longer. Its no biggie if you want to restore it.

Genres.[edit]

Hello, there seems to be issues regarding the genres on Lotus (Christina Aguilera album). I reverted the article back to your version but user "Laylaluvalog" is now genre warring. That user has a problem with misinterpreting sources, they've even admitted to misreading sources. Along with disruptive editing on lotus they are now doing it on other articles. Cowboy Carter song titles[edit]

I arrived a bit late to the discussion at Talk:Cowboy Carter#Stylizations, but since you originally posted in that thread, I'd appreciate your feedback on the comment I left if you get a chance. Thanks, Chase (talk | contributions) 22:44, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Track listing templates[edit]

Hello. I've just noticed that you've changed a couple track list templates to numerical lists on Avicii's song articles recently. As I said in my edit summary on "Broken Arrows", MOS:ALBUM doesn't say we should change track listings into numbered lists (simple or not)—it only says if a track listing is complex that it can be formatted into a template. So it's only saying you can do it this one way if there's a lot of detail there. I've noted to several other editors that the ALBUM guideline wasn't changed after the track listing template was made, so at the time it was written, numerical lists were the only way to format track listings, so that's why it (still) says they "should generally be formatted as a numerical list". As you know, some users on this site directly oppose the use of track list templates and revert any conversion of a track list to a template, so I think where a template was first used (as on "Broken Arrows"), that should be retained. I didn't manually revert your edit to "Waiting for Love" as I note those were numerical lists when they were first added. Ss112 04:55, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
