Hi[edit]

Hi Joyson

I saw the AfD and looked over your contribs. You appear to have lots of interest in digital health, which is a pretty cool field.

I was disappointed to see the canvassing you did about the AfD here, here, and here. I don't know why you reached out to those people, but that is not OK here. Do read WP:CANVASS and please don't do that anymore.

The person who nominated the Patietory article for deletion is one of the most experienced editors in Wikipedia, and a member of Arbcom (which is kind of our Supreme Court here in Wikipedia). Somebody you want to be learning from, not dissing.

I believe you do want to improve Wikipedia's coverage of digital health - that you are well intentioned, but you have a lot to learn about the mission of Wikipedia, and what we are doing here, building an encyclopedia. WP is not a blog or something like TechCrunch. The problem with the Patientory article is that you used a bunch of low-quality sources like press releases, churnalism pieces, and blogs. Edits based on high quality sources (think New York Times or articles in high quality academic journals) will stick.

Please do take some time to read the links in the welcome message above. You might want to have a look at User:Jytdog/How, where i tried to lay out, as compactly as possible, what the mission of WP is, and the strategies through with the editing community tries to realize it. Happy to answer any questions you have. Jytdog (talk) 01:58, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I believe much of what I was going to say was already mentioned by Jytdog. Having said that, I appreciate your enthusiasm to edit and hope that you will not be deterred if your article gets deleted; it happens to most in the early stages. We always need good article-producing editors around here and I think you have potential. I noticed that one of your references stated within the article itself that it was sponsored by Patientory, so I removed it, as well as the template stating it was an orphan, as it is no longer so. As Jytdog mentioned, Wikipedia is not a place for promotion - in fact, one of our rules is that editors with a potential bias, connection or conflict of interest declare themselves so, and back away from anything but minor edits - and in that spirit, since you canvassed me, I will decline to weigh in on the voting itself. I would be happy to assist you with factfinding or copyediting tasks, or questions, if you need future help. Cheers, LovelyLillith (talk) 12:18, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
