SpVgg Unterhaching‎[edit]

You might want to reconsider your approach to this article. Giving a blow-by-blow account of the 2000-01 season may be a little over much for an encyclopedia entry. It makes for a tough read that only the keenest fans might appreciate. --Wiggy! 00:38, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have comprehensively described their Bundesliga history because it was undoubtedly the biggest success that this club has ever achieved and after which it became known to football fans in other European countries, as the Bundesliga is one of the top five national football leagues on the continent. Besides, their 10th-place finish in the 1999-2000 Bundesliga season and avoidance of relegation in general was voted by football fans as well as experts, like for instance in a Kicker poll in which professional players took part, as the biggest surprise of the season. Prior to the season, people mostly predicted that Unterhaching is going to be relegated as the worst-placed team in the Bundesliga, suffering major defeats to the league's top teams. Their victory over Bayer Leverkusen on the final day of the season was one of the top football news in Europe at the time. The 2000-01 season also needs to be described a little bit more detailed, since they won three out of four matches against their local rivals, achieved their highest victory and suffered their worst defeat as well. Adding results of about ten out of 34 league matches played by the club in the season is far from "giving a blow-by-blow account" as you described it.

I'm not a Haching supporter myself, but I really don't see where is the problem in adding more details about the most successful years in the club's history to an encyclopedic article, which is supposed to be comprehensive. You can see that the information about their years in lower divisions is nothing more than basic, just to let readers know that the club was competing there. If you are not interested in contents of the article, you better just ignore it instead of diminishing its quality by adding or even bringing back removed misspellings like "bobbsledding" or "thier" as well as linking to less important dates and removing links to more important dates, like you did to my two edits concerning the foundation date in the opening lines of the history section. Also, it was quite pointless from you to replace the spelling "bobsleigh" with the North American "bobsled" in an article talking about something European as well as to abbreviate "Spielvereinigung" to "SpVgg" in the first sentence, where the club's full name should be mentioned, even more considering the fact that Haching is often referred to in Germany as Die Spielvereinigung and the full name is also displayed on its logo, while "SpVgg" is merely a common abbreviation used mostly in written works and therefore welcomed in the rest of the article, just like the club's nickname. Their bobsleighing activities should be mentioned in the first sentence as well. You repeatedly reverted all of the aforementioned edits, from both other users and me, with no explanations given. All I wanted is to improve and expand the article, and you disrespected my work like it's some nonsense or vandalism. Jeez! I don't understand what you are trying to achieve with such approach to someone's effort. Every true Bundesliga fan would appreciate someone's effort to expand an article related to the league, regardless of which club they support, instead of complaining and reverting to previous versions of lower quality, giving no explanation for such action. --Alf Hasselhoff 16:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please, you don't have to tell me what is right, because I have been following Croatian national teams regularly for more than 11 years and during the 1999 World Youth Championship, it was constantly mentioned in Croatian media that their U-21 team, which is commonly referred to as "youth national team" in the country, is playing there. Besides, the Croatian football federation considers those matches as U-21 matches on their official website. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SV_Wehen_logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
