Vyzas F.C.[edit]

Hello Alex8city. Are you familiar with the Greek football clubs? Could you help me please? I would like to find out the real squad of Greek Vyzas F.C.. Here is a squad at transfermarkt.co.uk, it differs substantially from our informations. Here is the official website of the club, unfortunately I can't read it. Thanks for your help. Antonín Vejvančický (talk) 07:25, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did my best with Vyzas F.C. you asked me for. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex8city (talkcontribs) 09:42, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. Unfortunately, IP 85.74.45.4 immediatelly changed the article again, without explanation. --Vejvančický (talk) 12:45, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's OK now, IP 85.74.45.4 just puts the official squad numbers.Alex8city (talk) 12:51, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. It was not entirely apparent from the diffs. Sorry for confusion. I prodded two current members of the Vyzas F.C. squad: Emanouel Okoue and Akis Maziotis. Google search seemed to be very suspicious. Is it possible to find out more in Greek sources? --Vejvančický (talk) 13:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I find more information. About the first player, the real player's name is "Emmannel Okoye" and date of birth, stats etc doesn't fit with the existing. Here is his profile on the official website [1](Page is in greek but you can see name and date). The player Emanouel Okoue| i think doesn't exist. The second player is allright, i fix his date according the official site [2].Alex8city (talk) 13:37, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again :) I have those suspicious articles in my watchlist, and finally I found help. Great! I'll check and fix Emmannel Okoye later today. Have a nice day, Alex, and good luck to all Greek football clubs. (Also to Greek national team who destroyed Czech rep. at Euro in Portugal, 2004. I mourned over it for years!)  :) --Vejvančický (talk) 13:51, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
According to your link, it looks that Okoye didn't play any matches for Vyzas, and thus fails WP:ATHLETE. --Vejvančický (talk) 08:37, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're right but, as i see, any player played last year. Impossible, so they just didn't put appearances and goals. According to this sport magazine, if you get in every match of last year, you will see that he played almost in all matches.Alex8city (talk) 08:50, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I trust you, Alex. I can't read the Greek letters. I'll remove the prod template and move the Okoue article to correct name. --Vejvančický (talk) 09:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it's better to delete it at all...nothing is right in that article. But it's your choise, you know better than me.Alex8city (talk) 09:11, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, Alex. I would like to fix it by myself, but I can't read the Greek sources. The problem is with notability of those third league players, they surely fails WP:PEOPLE. On the other hand, Gamma Ethniki is a professional league. I should ask at WP:FOOTBALL. Thanks for all your help. Antonín --Vejvančický (talk) 09:18, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
One last thing. I just look on facebook and i found his profile. He created that profile so i think that's the correct spelling of his name. I know that it isn't something official but i am pretty sure he created that(many players of Vyzas are also his friends).Alex8city (talk) 12:12, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Special Barnstar
... for all your useful help, Alex. The case is not closed yet, but you surely deserve it. Thank you. Vejvančický (talk) 12:20, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Case resolved here. --Vejvančický (talk) 12:57, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greek help needed[edit]

Hello Alex8city, I'm contacting you because we need some Greek translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on el.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Greek Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 18:25, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
