Wikics template[edit]

Hi -js-! I've just created a new template to indicate English Wikipedia users who also contribute to the Czech Wikipedia.

Template:User wikics

Feel free to add it to your userboxes if you like it (and if you actually contribute). Happy Easter. Daniel Šebesta (talkcontribs) 12:57, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed you use a different user name on the Czech Wikipedia, so the automatic links in the template probably won't work... Daniel Šebesta (talkcontribs) 16:03, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's fixed ;-) ---js- 16:41, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect. :) Daniel Šebesta (talkcontribs) 17:02, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Czech Question[edit]

You may, or may not know how to answer this but I was just wondering what might be the best way to learn Czech (short of actually going TO the Czech Republic). I know two brothers who speak Czech and I talk to them with my minimal skills. I'd like to improve my Czech but I don't know how. Jsem patnáct a ještě jsem student. Můžete mi pomoc? Děkuji!

Hi. I think this article is probably in Slovak rather than Czech (which your userpage says you won't be as able to translate), but would you be able to cast your eye over it to see what it's about and whether it should be deleted? Děkuji in advance. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 12:05, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You guessed right. It's in Slovak. It goes: Podbradníkovce are unicellural organisms. Its body consists of only one cell two metres in diameter (it is the biggest known cell, is visible to the human eye). Podbradníkovec lives in very contaminated schools, swimming pools, swamps, dining rooms, attics ... It has to eat 500-800 kg of food every day, otherwise it will die etc etc. IMHO it's a rather poor joke describing a fictional organism not worth translating. ---js- 17:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thankyou very much indeed (my Czech consists of one word, so I don't know how to add "very much" to my thanks above). I'll pass this one on up the chain and we should get some results. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 10:21, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks...[edit]

... for the Mercury images. Very nice! Maury 12:06, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of Nyomi zen[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Nyomi zen, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Nyomi zen is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Nyomi zen, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Czech help needed[edit]

Hello -js-, I'm contacting you because we need some Czech translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on cs.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Czech Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:58, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
