I've edited articles here and there, such as fixing portions of broken English, lacking sources and removing inappropriate content. That sort of thing. Well, I then opened an account to keep track of my edits, for other editors' benefit as much as mine. I'm a forestry student in the UK, as my name suggests, soon to be qualified in May (2017). I'm currently learning Norwegian, French and German. I think Wikipedia has great potential, and it does manage this on a lot of subjects, and is greatly misunderstood.
