"e-m er stirt um mál" means to speak with difficulty and was an insult in Old Norse. Perhaps stirt is not an insult in modern Icelandic. Of course "norrœona" did not appear until the 13th or 14th century, so it is no appropriate here for Old Norse. Wyeson 09:58, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
