Sarah Vaughan
Sarah Vaughan (1924–1990) was an American jazz singer who rose to fame in the 1940s and remained active for nearly five decades. Described by Scott Yanow as having "one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century", Vaughan has received extended recognition, including induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, two entries in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and several tribute albums.Photograph: William P.
