Vandalism?[edit]

First sentence under history is:

Pilgramage bus crash[edit]

The article merged with Sherman is appropriate for right now, I think the bulk of this should be merged with another article dealing with transportation issues or "notable" crashes if more news or it leads to some other significant developments occurs. --Hourick (talk) 10:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-reference references[edit]

I removed the following three "references" from the reference section. That section is only for footnotes. I'm guessing that for the first two of these, people are (sort of) wanting these as external links, but they don't qualify for that section per WP:EL. (And per WP:NOT - Wikipedia isn't a directory.) As for the third, again, Wikipedia isn't a directory - so we don't list companies that were founded in a particular city unless they were large enough to have a significant economic impact.

Re History: “The Great Hanging at Gainesville”[edit]

I removed a reference to “Sherman County,” as it seemed in error. (Gainesville is in Cooke County). But, given that—while interesting, definitely— these events occur in Gainesville/Cooke County and not Sherman, why is all this here? Seems like this whole discussion should be moved to those entries, and does not actually belong under the “Sherman, Texas” entry. I would propose that this incident be condensed and just summarized here, keeping the references to Sherman’s role in the events. (Mentioned towards the end of the paragraph.)
