I have added a link to the current IANA list of IPv4 ICMP type/code numbers in use.

The article could benefit from sections explaining the proper use of each of these code replies, hopefully quoting standards based material. Additionally a note explaining that in RFC1812 it is mentioned that the original notion of including the first x bytes of the datagram causing the ICMP reply has been replaced with the notion of including as much as possible while keeping the ICMP MTU below 576. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 15.203.137.73 (talk) 12:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
