Redirect to "List of Black Fridays" or what ... ?[edit]

Hi All, Some good faith and bold editing today, which I cannot but feel has not helped. So, I have reverted to last good state before today, What is the way forward with this article and List of Black Fridays? Springnuts (talk) 23:34, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My thought on this and the related "Black" days is that "Black Friday" is strictly a disambiguation page which can aids navigation to things like the films and music or to the List of Black Fridays which is a separate concept where bad things happen on a Friday. The disambiguation page is strictly to aid navigation when someone follows a link to Black Friday but generally you would not directly link to it. You might legitimately want to link to the List of Black Fridays. Barrylb (talk) 06:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Barrylb - all helpful. Have I understood correctly then that you feel List of Black Fridays is a Set index article? In which case Black Friday should I think be the substantive article about the concept of Black Friday (if anyone can source this), plus a 'see also' section pointing to the various works so entitled. And I would take all the days over to List of Black Fridays, but renamed List of Days called Black Friday and including the recurring BFs. Possibly a second Set Index covering List of works entitled Black Friday. If this is where yesterday's edits were going then I apologise for being slow in catching up! Springnuts (talk) 17:33, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No worries :) It is all a bit confusing! I think we need a disambiguation article and if that article were Black Friday it could not include anything except for links to other articles... I would see List of Black Fridays as a Set index article but I was thinking this is where we would explain the concept of a 'Black Friday' too since this is where we are also listing "actual" Black Fridays. Films or songs that happens to use the name Black Friday are not actually Black Fridays so would simply be linked off the disambig page... I would have no problem with renaming List of Black Fridays to List of days called Black Friday and adding List of works entitled Black Friday if necessary. Thanks for making the changes, I have renamed list of bfs and added a setindex tag. Springnuts (talk) 21:14, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from 'List of Black Fridays' to 'Black Friday'[edit]

Hi all, I can see that this (in reverse order) has been discussed before, but my reason for proposing a merger is that of duplication: apart from a few additions, everything on the 'List of Black Fridays' page are identical to the Recurring days and Single days sections of the 'Black Friday' page. Milesli (talk) 06:10, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have decided to withdraw the request, in favour of a 'main page' link. This is because 'List of Black Fridays' contains references, whereas 'Black Friday', as a disambuguation page, cannot contain such references. Milesli (talk) 07:40, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
