Support - On the contrary to the previous vote, these generic names fail WP:COMMONNAME. We established a basic consensus in the Wikiproject to move towards generic names when there is no enduring common name. WP:COMMONNAME is a policy, not a guideline. It asks us to use "the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable, English-language sources.)" Neither yourself or OP have presented any sources that use the name "NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway." A quick Google search will however reveal that "Dixie Vodka 400" is commonly used. [1] [2]

Should the common name happen to change in the future, a change to the article's title can be discussed at that time. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. 162 etc. (talk) 19:04, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
