– "Perth City Council" is a colloquial and informal name, which is not in official use anywhere. The Local Government Act 1995 does not use the term "City Council" anywhere. Oppose Even if not officially used, "Perth City Council" is common enough and keeps it in style with Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane City Council election page names

You will never see the City of Perth Council refer to itself as the "Perth City Council". In fact, no local council in Western Australia refers to itself as the "X City Council". The media does that because its a colloquial name. Steelkamp (talk) 04:21, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Per WP:NCELECT we should use the format [date] [country name or adjectival form] [type] election/referendum which equate to "2023 City of Perth local government election". With that said, I can't see a whole lot og information that couldnt be sufficiently covered by a merge woth the 2023 Western Australian local elections article. There is also a suggestion to merge that with the 2023 Western Australian mayoral elections, which would provide comprehensive coverage. Dfadden (talk) 09:25, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would argue that if the page was moved (not that I support it) the title should just be "2023 City of Perth election", the 2020 Melbourne City Council election page used to be 2020 City of Melbourne election for instance Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 09:27, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
