Quang Thanh Luong (Chinese: 弮格 溚讷荷 萝讷骼, born 1988) is a Chinese-born British actor, fitness model and television personality, known for appearing as the role "Viper" on the British television endurance sports game show Gladiators.[2][3]

Career[edit]

Luong, living in Leatherhead, Surrey,[4] is an actor and fitness model.[5] As an actor, he has appeared in the film Die Another Day as a soldier.[6][7] In 2021, he appeared in an episode of the Sky One sci-fi series Intergalactic as Diazo Chroma,[8] and in 2024, he appeared as Cobra in the short film The Brothers Swap.[9] The late martial arts superstar Bruce Lee has been the idol of his.[10] As a model, he has featured on has appeared on drinks cans and book covers.[10] For the past over 15 years, Luong has dedicated his life for bodybuilding, and does also boxing regularly.[4][3]

In January 2024, Luong began appearing as "Viper" on the television endurance sports game show Gladiators.[11][12] His character's personality is described as "mean, moody, sneaky and powerful", with Viper being perceived as the programme's villain, rarely speaking and regularly storming off set after facing defeat against the contenders.[13][14] He has drawn comparisons to Wolf (Michael Van Wijk) from the original series of Gladiators.[4][15][16][17] As Viper, Luong appeared in an April Fools Day skit for CBeebies in which he was jokingly introduced as a new presenter.[18]
