Sumit Narayan is a Marine Engineer and Disaster Management professional. He is an alumnus of Indian Maritime University Kolkata Campus (IMU-KC). He did his Bachelor of Technology in Marine Engineering from IMU-KC in 2018.^[1].

He has worked with the Shipping Corporation of India as a Marine Engineer. Sumit Narayan did his Masters in Disaster Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has authored a research paper on disabled children in disaster management^[2] and a book titled "Oil Spill Hazards".^[3]

His book is based on the oil spill that occurred off the coast of Peru in January 2022^[4]
