Beth (Elizabeth) Goodfellow, is a drummer, percussionist, and vocalist from the United States of America.

Early life and education[edit]

Goodfellow grew up in California's central valley, where she played in traditional jazz bands as a youth. Her first public performance was at an Elk's Lodge at age 11 [1] She then attended San Jose State University where she studied classical percussion. During that time she was also in the Air National Guard and played in the Air National Guard band on the west coast of the USA [2][3] After college she lived in San Francisco and during this time was on two episodes of America's Got Talent while playing in The Emily Anne Band [1][4].

Music career[edit]

Goodfellow has performed with many artists including Madison Cunnigham,[5] Boygenius, Iron and Wine[4], Per Gessle, Cross Record[6], guitarist Molly Miller [7][8], Julia Holter[9], Gaby Moreno[10], Calexico[4], Zander Schloss[11][12], Allison Russell[13], Bria Skonberg[14][15], Marianne Dissard, Lisa Morales [16]and Lauren Monroe[3]. Goodfellow has released several albums of her own original music, and she is also a member of The Guide Trio [17]. She has served as a drummer for various acts on shows and TV such as Jimmy Kimmel Live[13][18], James Corden[18], Steven Colbert[18] and a special episode of The Ellen Show hosted by Brandi Carlile [18].

Music Collaborations/Contributions[edit]

She has toured with Madison Cunningham on her Who Are You Now? Tour[4]. She toured with the Hot Sardines (hot jazz, NYC)[4]. Goodfellow recorded drums on the eponymous boygenius' EP, recorded in 2018 with only female musicians[4] [19] . She contributed to Marianne Dissard's 2022 EP "Won't You Please" from the Trop Exprès Music label. She appeared on Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst's project, Better Oblivion Community Center, appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert doing the single from the project, Dylan Thomas [20]. Singer-songwriter Lauren Monroe used Goodfellow on drums along with Monroe's husband Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen on Monroe's "Void of Course" off of the 2022 album 'Messages from Aphrodite' [21]. Goodfellow is the drummer for Julia Holter's album Something in the Room She Moves [9] Goodfellow has toured with Iron&Wine in the Beast Epic and Weed Garden tours and is toured with him in 2024 as a drummer/percussionist/vocalist [4][22]. She also appears on Iron&Wine's Light Verse (album) providing percussion.

Goodfellow is one of "The Guide Trio " and performs, tours and records with them. The group has played The Tucson Jazz Festival, San Joaquin Valley Jazz Festival, Horizons Jazz Series at Ace Hotel Palm Springs, and several of LA’s jazz venues, including ETA, Sam First, Bacari, Petit Ermitage, The Dresden, Three Clubs, and Tabula Rasa in the Los Angeles area[17].

Flim Appearances/Acting[edit]

She has also appeared on screen in the 2022 Miramax film "Confess, Fletch" as herself, drumming with the Hot Sardines[18]. She appears in Sara Bareillis' "Little Voice" series[18].

Musical Solo work[edit]

She has released several albums of original music, among them, "Silly Sun" (2018) with the single 'U Play Me Records' [23] and "Sea Ranch" (2019)[4]. and has worked with solo looping using vocal and marimba in 2019 to the present. As a solo artist she has headlined shows at Club Congress (Tuscon AZ), Gold Diggers in LA[24] and more. "Milwaukee" was released Febuary 21, 2020 on Oburabi Records [25]. In 2020 she had a bandcamp only album, 'Hunting The Silence' [26]. She released the single 'Terror and Trust' in 2021 [26].
