In this category are those regions or landscapes - historical, geological or geographical - in the low mountain range of Westerwald central Germany within the topographical boundaries formed by the following rivers (listed clockwise beginning in the east):

  • Dill
  • Lahn below its confluence with the Dill
  • Rhine between its confluences with the Lahn and Sieg
  • Sieg below its confluence with the Heller
  • Heller

Some of these regions do not belong exclusively to the natural region of the Westerwald, but also to the Süderbergland and Middle Rhine area.
