Draft:A9 dualling project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The A9 dualling project is an ongoing project to make the entire A9 from Perth to Inverness a dual carriageway.

History[edit]

As most of the A9 is currently a single carriageway, drivers may have to overtake trucks as they are limited to 50mph, lower than the speed limit of cars by 10mph.

Construction[edit]

Work officially began on September 2015 with the hope to finish the project in ten years time. [1]

Delays[edit]

Despite the anticipated completed date of 2025, only 11 miles out of 88 have been done as of autumn 2023, which meant that the project is no where near complete. Because of this, the project has been delayed to 2035 from the autumn 2023 announcement. [2]
