DescriptionDatura metel 'Fastuosa' - tightly-furled corolla of bursting bud seen from above.jpg
English: Triple-flowered Datura metel 'Fastuosa' - tightly-furled corolla of bursting bud seen from above. Note conduplicate-contorted corolla aestivation (i.e. corolla spirally furled like a rolled umbrella) characteristic of flowers of plants belonging to tribe Datureae of the nightshade family Solanaceae. Note also hairiness of young corolla and purple mottling/striation of calyx and glimpse of glossy, purple-black stem that gives the plant its Hindi name of kāla dhatūra (= 'black datura').
